At long last, we have a volunteer who will be overseeing all of the volunteer efforts at the farm! We welcome Kris Forsythe as our Volunteer Coordinator. Our board of directors and all who volunteer at the farm are very excited about having a Volunteer Coordinator who will be recruiting, training, and overseeing the volunteers here at the farm. If you or your organization are interested in volunteering, please call or e-mail Kris (see below). Volunteering at CBP is a GREAT way for High School students to meet their volunteer requirements prior to graduation. Volunteer orientations are held on the second Saturday of each month.
As a CBP volunteer you will feed, clean and care for the animals on the farm. We have rabbits, goats, pigs, geese, horses and a cow. The animals were either brought to us by owners who could no longer care for them, or were abused or animal cruelty cases that our Large Animal Rescue Team (LART) rescued and brought here. Most of our animals are available for adoption. Those animals that can not be placed in new homes will live out the remainder of their lives here on the farm.
People or organizations are needed for projects. Some of the many things we hope to accomplish:
- Trail bridges
- Pavilion built at the campsite
- Lean-to shed
- Large animal chute
- Stocks for older horses
- Roof repair for cow barn
- Round pens
- Indoor arena
- Electric upgrades and repairs to barns and houses
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns. Please reference volunteering when calling.
