Meet Our Volunteers
(go here for pictures of some of our great volunteers)At long last, we have a volunteer who will be overseeing all of the volunteer efforts at the farm! We welcome Shannon Mahoney as our Volunteer Coordinator. Our board of directors and all who volunteer at the farm are very excited about having a Volunteer Coordinator who will be recruiting, training, and overseeing the volunteers here at the farm. If you or your organization are interested in volunteering, please call or e-mail Shannon.
Here’s a greeting from Shannon…
“Hello! I began volunteering here on Sundays about six months ago and recently committed to Saturdays as the need arose. My daughter is also a volunteer. Being a CBP volunteer is hard work both physically and mentally, however I have not been able to find anything more rewarding. Volunteering at CBP is a GREAT way for High School students to meet their volunteer requirements prior to graduation.
As a CBP volunteer you will feed, clean and care for the animals on the farm. We have rabbits, goats, pigs, geese, horses and a cow. The animals were either brought to us by owners who could no longer care for them, or were abused or animal cruelty cases that our Large Animal Rescue Team (LART) rescued and brought here. Most of our animals are available for adoption. Those animals that can not be placed in new homes will live out the remainder of their lives here on the farm.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns. Please reference volunteering when calling.”
